Like W.C. Fields Criticizing a Drunk
Wow, the great Russian bear roars at the United States, but not for its capitalism: for its Marxism.
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people. . . .
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.
These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?
A most startling piece, but it doesn't matter. Obama has charisma, and Americans don't understand the elementary principles of political philosophy, like "every unit of power taken by the federal government is a unit of freedom lost by someone, somewhere." That's not rhetoric. It's a fact. On simple grounds of logic, the American people ought to be shaking in their boots. Instead, they haven't a clue, so they're just fawning over the President. The man can do no wrong. The sheep ba for the master, and any criticism--like that Pravda piece--is simply dismissed as fringe talk. A very bad state of affairs indeed.
Laughing at the U.S.(S.R.?)
For the past couple of years, I've had a lot of fun poking fun at Russia: its wrecked social fabric, weird crimes, abandoned buildings. Is it me, or are parts of America beginning to look like the former USSR? From Detroit's northeast suburbs: Foreclosures creating 'jungles'
Last weekend, DPW workers inspected three, 1-square-mile sections in the southeast quadrant of the city and found 125 foreclosed houses where the grass height exceeds the 6-inch maximum under city ordinance.
Officials estimate that with more than 1,200 foreclosed homes in Michigan's third-largest city (Warren), 750 may have excessively high grass.
Dang it, I could've had this Elvis lovely for a mere $212,000. The auction ended about two months ago.
A guy can only take so much: An elderly Florida man allegedly choked his live-in girlfriend because he was unhappy with the way she loaded the dishwasher.
You know your Aesop, Andersen, and Grimm? Take this 15-part quiz. I got 13 right, and one of my misses was a clicking error rather than one of ignorance. I used to read a lot of those classics as a kid. Hint: Aesop is short, Grimm is violent, Andersen has all the others.
