Day 4 With No Charter Communications Connection

Charter Communications has gone down again at my house and my neighbor's house, but it's fine at the office. Junk service, but I've gotten some decent stuff around this morning:

Border agent convicted of crime and put in prison. Hispanic inmates beat him silly. Authorities seem surprised. I say it's like seating a mob informant at a Frank Sinatra concert.

Backwards Nepal characterized as "conservative" and "religious," but enlightened enough to recognize phallusized woman. It's the BBC at its best. Nepal, incidentally, is 89.5% Hindu, according to the Oxford Dictionary of World History (2000). Hinduism is known for its embrace of opposites (destruction and life, death and birth). This guy merely embraces opposing genitalia.

Man, there was some killer late night lines Monday night:

Conan: Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy became the first African-American coach to win the Super Bowl, and today, President Bush called to congratulate him. There was an awkward moment when Bush said, "I also thought you were great in the halftime show.”
Leno. Maytag has recalled 2.3 million dishwashers. And the INS has deported 50 more.

I hope they didn't interview my wife for this one: "Women on average say they would be willing to give up sex for 15 months for a closet full of new apparel, with 2 percent ready to abstain from sex for three years in exchange for new duds, according to a new survey . . .". I'm more interested in the women who'd have sex fifteen times for a closet full of new apparel. Ten bucks could buy a lot of lovin' if your community has a well-stocked Salvation Army store.

The Fred Sanford security device: "An 80-year-old Hampden woman who was watching the Super Bowl alone faked a heart attack to scare off a man who had broken into her home and was pushing her toward the bedroom, police said." My wife pulls this one on me all the time when I'm pushing her toward the bedroom.

Cutting-edge parenting skills: "An Albany father used a 100,000-volt stun gun on his 18-month-old son."
