More Foley

Good thoughts from a message board:

Right after this breaks, Foley says he was molested by a clergyman and has a drinking problem. What's he trying to say? He's dysfunctional somehow? He's functional enough to get elected, which takes a high amount of organization and sustained effort, but not functional enough to behave like a decent human being.

He also said his abuse by a clergyman and drinking problem don't excuse what he did. My response: "Then [why] bring it up? You obviously think such things mitigate your conduct, or you wouldn't raise them. You're still a deceitful, phony SOB."

I'm still amused, incidentally, by the Left's shock at such homosexual activity.
