Never Bankruptcy Land

Well, this story interests me, for reasons I'll explain below:

Pop star Michael Jackson has stumbled across a conspiracy by former attorneys, associates and advisers to force him into financial ruin, his spokeswoman said on Monday.
The plot was discovered after someone leaked documents to Jackson showing that unnamed former lawyers for the 47-year-old singer tried to recruit others into a petition that would drag him unwillingly into bankruptcy court, his spokeswoman and manager Raymone Bain said.

I'm going to bet that this is a PR stunt by Jackson, and I base this on one simple legal reason: any creditor can try to force an deadbeat into bankruptcy and seek other creditors to join him (in fact, it's often necessary to convince other creditors to join the suit, in order get an order of involuntary bankruptcy). The story's only allegation is that the creditors were trying to force MJ into bankruptcy. That's it, and that's legal. Without better allegations, this is a no-starter.

Aside:

Q. How do you know it's time for bed at the Neverland Ranch?
