I missed this story yesterday: Mexico is poised to legalize cocaine, heroin, LSD, marijuana, PCP, opium, synthetic opiates, mescaline, peyote, psilocybin mushrooms, amphetamines, and methamphetamines. LA Times Link. I gotta believe this was on the TV news, but I was tied up yesterday evening.

Wow, this will be interesting. Do the cartels collapse in the face of legalization? Will our doping masses go south of the border? We could swap our white trash meth users for some hard-working Catholic Mexicans who want to get away from the drug users.

Maybe Tijuana could erect a giant copper statute of a 305-foot joint and put a plaque at the bottom that reads:

Give me your syringed, your shroomed,
Your huddled users yearning to snort free,
The stoned refuse of your temperate shore.
Send the hallucinating, munchy-tost to me,
And lift a bong behind our toking door.
