Six Ports
Suicide of the West continues to impress. This is David Pearson, commenting on plans to turn six ports over to Arabs and saying to the Arab world, "We'll treat you fairly."
“We'll treat you fairly.” Look out, little old ladies visiting from Scandinavia. This means you could be “randomly” picked out to be strip-searched in an American airport – while the swarthy Saudi Arabian behind you, the one with darting eyes and unmatched shoes, skates right through. We wouldn't want him or his friends to think we're singling them out for suspicion, you see. Wouldn't be diplomatic. Wouldn't be prudent at this junc-cherr.
I haven't formed an opinion on this issue. If I understand correctly, the Arabs will own the ports, but we'll still police them and control security, so what's the big deal? Then again, does it mean there'll be more Arab workers in the ports, thus making it even harder to stop binLaden-ites?
I'm sitting this one out, pending more information and analysis.
