When the natural desire to procreate is stifled, it manifests itself in odd ways. From this morning's NY Post:

A deranged Pennsylvania woman bashed her pregnant neighbor over the head with a baseball bat, drove her to a secluded area, and slashed her belly in a maniacal bid to steal her unborn baby, authorities said yesterday.

This happened in Kansas earlier this year, and attacks against pregnant women are common. Draw whatever conclusions you want.
