In 1278, Rudolph von Hapsburg defeated Otakar, the King of Bohemia, at the Battle of the Marchfield Plain, thereby ushering in the greatest European dynasty of all time, the Habsurgs (1278-1918).

Aquinas' life marked the pinnacle of western civilization.
