Mark Epstein, Diehard Democrat, Says the Administration is Scrubbing the Files to Protect Republicans
Mark isn't credible but the allegation is. After all, we found out about MK Ultra's Operation Midnight Climax and a similar operation in Greenwich Village only because of a filing error that made the CIA miss 16,000 pages of files when it tried to shred all the evidence
What exactly happened at the safe house remains shrouded in darkness to this day: All recordings and photographs made in the observation room were destroyed in 1973, when Richard Helms, Allen Dulles’s successor as head of the CIA, ordered the destruction of the MK-Ultra files.
Nevertheless, 16,000 pages survived the records massacre, having been filed incorrectly and thus overlooked. Via the Freedom of Information Act they found their way to the author John Marks, who studied them for his authoritative work The Search for the "Manchurian Candidate."
