How Did Thaddeus Russell Fall Off My Radar Screen?
My copy of A Renegade History of the United States has more highlights than pink haired Goth chick but I long ago stopped following him. (Blog Post)
I don't know why I stopped following him.
I just figured he got too libertine for me. His unique angle is the significant role vice has played in the development of America. Whether it's the Mafia infiltrating the entertainment industry or gays high-kicking at Stonewall, he celebrates it. I dig the angle, but he would occasionally become too much of a cheerleader of perversity for me, kinda like I dig Catholic Rad Trads, but their rigid Latinophilia occasionally causes me to rub my temples.
So I just figured Russell featured one too many prostitutes or anal pioneers and I clicked away and drifted away.
But no, it looks like I stopped following him because he stopped producing. He took a hiatus to finish his new book, which appears to take the approach from Renegade and expand it to the globe.
It looks so great, I've pre-ordered it, which is the first time I've ever ordered a book before it was published.
