Walk the Line

WaPo has a great piece about Reese Witherspoon and Walk the Line. [http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/11/AR2005111100442.html] I'm greatly looking forward to seeing this movie, though I dread what appears to be a whitewashing of Johnny Cash's miserable

WaPo Attacks St. Paul

I like reading the Washington Post. It contains some of the finest writing in the land. But it's relentlessly secularist. Though it tries to cover it up, once in awhile, you come across something like this review of a novel based on the life of St. Paul [http:

The Weekend Eudemon

This week got uglier than Al Capone [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Capone]. The day job hopped with one fire after another, Marie had to go out three evenings, and now, on Saturday, the day I revere (must be my hitherto unknown Jewish roots), Marie is leaving again. It&

Hot for Teacher

Morality by democracy: Enough teachers are doin' it, it must be kinda good, right? > Britain should drop its moral outrage over sexual relationships between pupils and teachers and accept that an "erotic charge" in the classroom can be an aid to teaching, a Sheffield University academic

Another Holiday Celebration

Martin founded the Cambridge University Tiddlywinks Club (CUTwC). Celebrations occur in Cambridge and elsewhere during January 2005.

Giant Discovery

Splitting the E-Church

This "Bishop" Gay Robinson is a piece of work. First, he catalyzes the split of the Episcopalian Church, then he blabs to the press about a confidential meeting where the two parties tried to agree about the division of church assets. I obviously don't know the

Mental Destabilizer?

The NYT this morning reports about a Florence museum's exhibit of mythology and erotica [http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/11/international/europe/11florence.html?hp]. It's full of classical art. That classical art has a lot of nudity and even some erotica (the two aren&
