Brews You Can Use

Not much today. I'm a little behind the time eight-ball because I took my wife to see Hairspray [http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809751355/info] last night. I recommend it, though it's definitely more for yins. My local theater [http://strand4.com/] recently raised its

Arabs and Britney

A reader of this blog is grappling with New Age-type nuns in her parochial school. She wrote to me, wanting to know if I could shed any light on these five things: 1) Children of Abraham 2) The Healing Circle 3) The Cosmic Walk 4) The Cosmic Voyage 5)

Wednesday Bullets

My daughter's soccer coach asked the girls to watch Team USA play in the FIFA Women's World Cup. I guess he hopes they pick up some pointers. It was better than I anticipated, but is the defining moment of women's soccer still the ripping

No Catholic Beer Blogs?

I didn't receive a single recommendation for Catholic beer blogs. . . And with a Bavarian Pope on St. Peter's Chair! This is shameful. Are there no Catholic bloggers who blog about beer or beer bloggers who blog about Catholicism? I'll keep asking until I get

Goat Sacrifice to Lacrosse Player Sacrifice

Finally, a solution to terrorist hijacking: Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday [http://www.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUSEIC47086020070905?feedType=RSS&
