Jacko and the Permissive Society

A Calgary Sun columnist has written a great piece about Michael Jackson. Link [http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/Columnists/Calgary/Ian_Robinson/2005/06/12/1083192.html] . Excerpts: > I mean, here we have a man who speaks in an affected little baby voice, owns a face that looks like

Calling Hazel Motes

If Flannery O'Connor were still alive, she'd have a great time with this one. Her Hazel Motes dreamed of establishing the Church Without Christ. These folks have gone one better: the Church Without Church. Link [http://www.southbendtribune.com/stories/2005/06/09/faith.20050609-sbt-

Feeding One to the Wolves

PSA

Astute readers may have noticed that we didn't run a Weekly Features Post or a Weekend Eudemon last week. We are not discontinuing those features. Both fell victim to power outages, cable outages, and time outages. We plan to resume both features this week.

Movies as History

Joe Sobran wrote a nice column about the historical value of movies. Link [http://www.sobran.com/columns/2005/050519.shtml]. Opening paragraphs: > One of the ways I like to study American history is by watching old Hollywood movies, especially those made (usually in black and white) around and
