Well, the Dow dropped below 8,000. Panic time? Naw, I'm past that. I panicked 15 months ago and sold off a chunk, and I panicked last February and sold off a large chunk. Now I'm just looking to buy and shift. I don't think this is a "buyer's market." I think this is the first stages of a long bear market. Of course, all the experts disagree with people like me. Every investment adviser I know is optimistic: "Buy now. It'll go back up." Like cheerleaders. Heck, they might be right: The team might win. But sometimes I get the impression that, like cheerleaders, their job is to be rote-positive and root like victory is inevitable . . . but sometimes it simply isn't.

Just learned something new about myself: Mick Jagger and I have the same number of children. Of course, he went about it a little differently: "There is Karis, who came from his brief affair with the singer Marsha Hunt; Jade, from his first marriage to Bianca; his four children with Jerry Hall ”“ Elizabeth, 24, James, 23, Georgia, 16, and Gabriel, 11. Then there's nine-year-old Lucas, the product of a three-month affair with the Brazilian model Luciana Morad that effectively ended his two decades together with Hall."

Maybe I'll get knighted.

At first doctors at southern Italy's Lecce hospital thought Lorenzo Amato was suffering from a stroke or a severe brain disorder. The teenager couldn't speak and didn't seem to understand anything going on around him. Then doctors discovered he'd just finished a marathon session on his new Playstation.

Those Mormons are cutting-up the edge with their style these days: A Salt Lake City man is accused of slashing another man's face with a meat cleaver he was wearing as a necklace.
