Although it might cost the Republicans at the polls, I kinda hope the hurricane derails it. * * * * * * * I'd feel cleaner watching a "Dirty Prince Harry in Vegas" video than full coverage of the RNC. * * * * * * * If you don't think America is lost, ask yourself, "How could such ostentatious hokum give a party a boost in the polls?" Thomas DiLorenzo, I hear, might be the master screedist, and he has a new book: Organized Crime: The Unvarnished Truth about Government. The erudite David Gordon reviews it here. Gordon is, I gather, kinda the resident philosopher at the Mises Institute. I've been consistently impressed with his work, and he's impressed by this latest DiLorenzo slant on government (yes, I know: he's plugging a book published by his own organization). I would buy it, but it's merely a collection of short articles, many of which, I'm guessing, I can find on the Internet.
