At Winthrop University students can learn how to create and form their own pieces of medieval armor, learn to brew medieval beer, and distill medieval wine. Link.

It's odd, sure, but we kind of like it. Modern colleges have become little better than trade schools (the idea of "liberal learning" having been flushed), so why not teach the students an historical trade? Besides, the Middle Ages are mostly neglected in academia, unless a professor who doesn't know the difference between the Dark Ages and the Middle Ages mentions it for purposes of insulting Christianity. If a course gives students a better appreciation for the Middle Ages, we like it.
