Not much today for drinking news. I went home sick yesterday from the office, with the result that I need to put in a full day today (I normally work from my home on Fridays). I do my BYCU blogging Friday mornings, but this week, that morning needs to be spent at the office.

Fortunately, it doesn't appear that I have the flu. I occasionally come down with flu-like symptoms: bad headache, nausea, dizziness. After a few hours, it passes. My wife suggested that I may suffer from migraines. Could be. I used to get migraines when I was a boy (10-15). Maybe they've come back thirty years later.

I find New Yorker cartoons mildly entertaining, but rarely worth mentioning. This one, though, cracked me up.

Green beer. Not St. Patrick's-style, but wind-powered style:

Please join us for the raising of what will be the start of Wisconsin's Wind-Brewed Beer on Dave's BrewFarm, a sustainably-based craft brewery in Wilson, WI. On February 3, 2009, at approximately 9:00 a.m., we'll be putting up a Jacobs 31-20, a 20kW wind generator on a 120-foot tower to harvest the bountiful winds on the northern ridge of Wilson. The generator is projected to provide up to 50% of the needed electricity for the brewery/residence.

Just make sure you're not flying drunk around there: One of the final disadvantages of wind power is the effect on the environment. Birds like strong winds. It is very common for migrating birds to fly into wind turbines and get killed.

One of the longest list of drinking games I've ever seen. Sigh. To be young again, to throw down beer like there's no tomorrow, to wake up tomorrow and say "Oh s___, my head" over and over again.

Perhaps the funniest book I've ever read (PG-13):
