Okay, these guys are off my list of acceptable brewers: [Carlsberg's announcement that it has found customers for its $400 a 375ml bottle of a new beer known as Vintage No 1](http://www.realbeer.com/blog/?p=741&ref=thedailyeudemon.com). Four hundred bucks for a bottle of beer ("But hey, it's a big bottle: 12.**7** ounces")? Calling it "Vintage"? The brewmeister then says a person can drink it with “a very special friend.” Vomit.

"[A Beer for Hope](http://www.reunionbeer.com/?ref=thedailyeudemon.com)." I'm kind of disappointed. At first, I thought it was being brewed in honor of the Pope's most-recent encyclical. After reading the story, I realize it's brewed to help a cancer victim. Very nice, of course, but not nearly as titillating as *Spe Salvi* suds.

Even those rascally Anglicans get things right sometimes: [When the Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu, went to visit Pope Benedict XVI in Rome he took him an unusual gift – Holy Grail, a beer brewed by the Black Sheep Brewery located in Masham, England](http://www.realbeer.com/blog/?p=749&ref=thedailyeudemon.com).

Had I been sick for two weeks or two years? [I hadn't even heard of alcoholic tea, must less that Sam Adams was brewing it](http://www.brewblog.com/brew/2008/02/more-twisted-fr.html?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). I like tea, and I like alcohol. I'd be inclined to try it, but each element caters to different dispositions: one work, the other play. Mixing them would kinda be like mixing rock-n-roll with the liturgy (which some are doing, of course).

Taking a cue from [The Scotsman](http://news.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=585&ref=thedailyeudemon.com), [the *NYT* has collected all its beer stories onto one page](http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/b/beer/index.html?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). Most righteous.
