Finally! For months, there's been something about Mitt Romney that bugs me. I finally put my finger on it while seeing him on Fox & Friends this morning:
He's always conscious of his good looks.
It's not easy to explain what I mean by this, but basically, he always has a look about him that says, "I'm handsome, and we (you and I) know it." And I'm guessing this thought is never far from the front of his consciousness.
My perception of his subjective state may, of course, be grossly wrong, but when I see him, that's what I see.
I should also point out that it's not a horrible thing. Vanity, C.S. Lewis liked to point out, is a small sin. Also, Mitt's look is better than Bill Clinton's, which said, "I'm going to have sex with you, and we (you and I) know it."
