Not much today. I'm a little behind the time eight-ball because I took my wife to see Hairspray last night. I recommend it, though it's definitely more for yins.

My local theater recently raised its ticket prices to $5.00 ($3.50 for matinees). A popcorn and pop combo is $4.80. I'm told those prices are nearly half what the big cities in the Midwest charge, but I've never verified it. If you get a chance, put your location and theater prices in the comments box. I love my local movie theater (been going there since 1969 when it had only one screen) and would pay whatever is reasonably necessary to keep it going.

Happy Latin Mass Day: Summorum Pontificum, the motu proprio with which Pope Benedict XVI encouraged wide use of the Roman Missal of 1962, takes effect on Friday, September 14.

Brews You Can Use

From 2004 (I missed it back then, so I'm mentioning it now): A mid Wales brewery which claims to be the smallest in the world has re-opened. Less than 5-ft square and formerly an outside toilet, Bragdy Gwynant brews ale for just one customer. Great gimmick. I'd buy a pint, but I'm not the one customer.

If you're going to be in Denver next month, you're a lucky, lucky man: The Great American Beer Festival. 1,800+ beers available.

Good $10 champagne. (BTW: What's with the story's headline?)
