I believe it: A "drain hole" in the St. Clair River caused by dredging and other commercial projects is costing Lakes Huron and Michigan a combined 2.5 billion gallons of water each day, according to a Canadian study released Tuesday. The receded water lines are remarkable all along the Lake Huron coast near my parents' cottage. I've never seen anything like it, though I seriously doubt most of it is caused by the "drain hole."
