Out of the vacation frying pan and into the work fire. I'm swamped at the office and have no time for blogging. A few quick things:
For those who missed it, Amy Welborn closed Open Book. Quite shocking. She brought in nearly 4,000 visitors a day, but apparently the effort wasn't worth it. Makes me wonder what I'm doing here, flailing away for 400 readers daily (which beats the average blog's 50 or so, but pales next to 4,000). But I'm not in it for the money or prestige. I do it for the chicks. (And the motto borrowed from Samuel Johnson in the banner.)

Interesting new book. Too expensive to buy, but when the pirated DVD version comes out, I'll be all over it.
