Baseball last night, baseball today, maybe baseball tomorrow. The good thing is, the games are being held in a heavily-Catholic town just twelve miles down the road that is also holding its annual Polish festival. I'll probably be able to sneak in a confession and six cheese [perogies](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierogi?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). They'll roll me out of there fat and happy.

When all you want to do is pay for your smokes and a six-pack, frustration mounts quickly: [State police said a 45-year-old Dutchess County man became enraged at a 72-year-old woman who was in front of him at the checkout line of the Super Stop & Shop on Route 6 last night and ran her over with his shopping cart](http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070719/NEWS01/707190440&ref=thedailyeudemon.com). The guy should learn how to use the electronic checkouts.

[Possibly the best summary of Communist China's murderous history I've ever seen](http://www.lewrockwell.com/rockwell/china2.html?ref=thedailyeudemon.com), though the point made by the article is numbingly mundane by comparison (accurate, but mundane).

This is surprising, why? "[A man with an unusually tiny brain managed to live an entirely normal life as a civil servant](http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm%5F2425014.html?menu=news.quirkies&ref=thedailyeudemon.com)." As Chesterton once remarked, "a civil servant is neither."

Un-freakin'-believable. [Paula Abdul breaks down over an unkind email](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23h07VLHtnw&ref=thedailyeudemon.com). You'd think she just found out that her entire family had been wiped out in an alligator attack. I thought maybe it was a prank, but I think it's real. Fame and fortune has its price. In Paula's case, I fear the price was her brain.
