Another Non-Flash in the Pan

Al Gore on Monday unveiled his new television network, "Current," which aims to attract younger viewers with short videos and a tie-in with the popular Google Inc. search engine. It's geared to 18-34 year olds and is going to have a serious theme: "empower- ing this generation of young people in their 20s, the 18-34 population, to engage in a dialogue of democracy and to tell their stories about what's going [sic] in their lives in the dominant media of our time." Gore appealing to 18-34 year olds? Sir, you're no Jack Kennedy, and that's being kind. We're not media experts, but this has XFL written all over it.
