Nearly four hours at the ball diamond last night and now the Van Morrison effect in in full swing: late dinner, late bedtime, late wake-up, late start to blogging. A few quick things is all I have time for:
Underwear to protect your . . . um . . . self from cell phone waves.
Life in the Trailer Park, Episode 50,915: Twin brothers Raymon and Richard Miller are the father and uncle to a 3-year-old little girl. The problem is, they don't know which is which. Or who is who.
Good news for me: Drinking three or more cups of tea a day is as good for you as drinking plenty of water and may even have extra health benefits, say researchers. Unfortunately, I only drink one or two cups of tea every day. (Via)
Here's a young thing that needs a few stripes: A nine-year-old German girl was so upset about having to tidy her room she put up a sign in her window urging passers-by to call police for help.
My wife read this story to me last night: Swarms of cicadas emerging in Midwest. We're in the line of fire. Their claim for fame: noise: "The red-eyed, shrimp-sized, flying insects don't bite or sting. But they are known for mating calls that produce a din that can overpower ringing telephones, lawn mowers and power tools." I'm not sure how the townspeople will feel when these insects kill precious silence by overcoming the lawn mowers, leaf blowers, power trimmers, power hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and miscellaneous power tools.
