"We have a right to be happy and peaceful. We have been created for this--we are born to be happy--and we can only find true happiness and peace when we are in love with God: there is joy in loving God, great happiness in loving Him." Mother Teresa.

A beautiful passage and one that I found penetrating, especially the first line.

Of course, it's precisely the first line that needs to be kept out of the hands of the Supreme Court. A divine truth applied in an immanent way (meaning, detached from its divine source) causes problems every time. Just ask those who lived under regimes that wanted to establish heaven on earth.
