Binge Drinking

Almost one-quarter of Americans reported binge drinking in the last month, according to the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Amazing number? Not quite. The Administration defines "binge drinking" as having five or more drinks on the same occasion. Criminy. By that definition, Eric Scheske will be binging tonight and probably tomorrow night, yet he'll be sober enough to write the Weekend Eudemon, attend Tess' baptism and Mass (stone sober, incidentally), entertain out-of-town company, and take care of small children. Five drinks ain't a binge. This is a binge (PG-13 link).
