My life gets more exciting tonight: the first real college football bowl game. [The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl](http://www.holidaybowl.com/poinsettiabowl.htm?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). Northern Illinois v. TCU. The whole bowl concept, of course, is out of hand: 32 games this year, which means 64 teams go bowling. I'm guessing there are about 120-130 Division 1-A football schools (about 20 years ago, there were only 102), so about 50% of all schools get "the honor." Oh well, I still enjoy it (which is probably why there are so many of them). I'm in my family's annual bowl pool. I never win, but I'm usually in the hunt.

[A woman says Mel Gibson is her father](http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE%5FID=53415&ref=thedailyeudemon.com) . . . after a one-night stand thirty years ago. After reading the story, I believe her. What was he, 22? It's newsworthy, but hardly worth much attention.

I can tell Christmas is getting near: The Internet is slowing down. I surf the Catholic blogosphere every day around noon, looking for stories to post to *National Catholic Register's* Blog Watch. Yesterday, surfing was sparse. Of the sixty or so blogs I glance through (thanks to Mozilla Firefox's nifty tab system), fewer than ten had been updated that day. This morning, there's a dearth of decent material for this blog: [Man strangles grandmother with Christmas lights](http://player.clipsyndicate.com/player/play%5Fclip/68773&cpt=8?ref=thedailyeudemon.com) (always a classy move) and [Matt Damon said it was weird to film love scenes with Angelina Jolie](http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2004580002-2006580501,00.html?ref=thedailyeudemon.com) (this is significant because it's the first evidence we've ever seen that people in Hollywood have souls).

That's about it. So, in lieu of commentary, I bring you a few more pictures from my cell phone:

A sign for the wise:
