I watched Arthur on vacation. It came out in 1981. At the beginning, drunken Arthur introduces himself to a hooker, reaches for his hat, and can't find it. She says, “It's on the floor.” He says, “I hate it when that happens.”
My question: Is that where that phrase came from?
