*Part of the family is gathered around the video hearth right now, watching, So You Think You Can Dance. It's a pretty miserable show this year. They're emphasizing a lot more "hip hop," with the result that you hear insightful comments like, "It's hard to find a breaker that can pop," spoken by a judge who doesn't have the fundamental courtesy to take his hat off . . . or even to take it off his eyes (too cool for that). Another judge--Nigel--is Simon Crowell without the cleverness or kindness. I'm watching only because I'm too tired to take the laptop off my legs.
