A Croatian shepherd is hoping for a place in the Guinness Book of Records after he lost 230 animals in a freak storm. Milan Prpic has written to Guinness asking if he can be included for having the most sheep killed by a single lightning strike.
The man says he lost a lot of money in the strike, so he might as well get something out of it. Fortune and/or fame. I can't fault the man. He's trying to make the best out of a bad situation. But if this is a snapshot of the average Croatian's mindset ("I suffered severe misfortune! Can I get on Letterman?"), the country has westernized quickly.
