Cram It

I greatly enjoy reading about the "Old Right": Nock, Mencken, Santayana, and other "superfluous men." They're no-nonsense men with uncompromising stances. They often had questionable morals (Mencken had a mistress; Nock left his wife), but they didn't discuss morality very much, at least from what I've seen. Rather, they restricted themselves to issues of sociology and politics, keeping the bedroom largely roped off from public scrutiny. Unfortunately, such a gentlemanly public disinterest toward sex is no longer possible, given the 1960s/1970s revolution.

Anyway, The Tory Anarchist has a pretty good post today about Ralph Adams Cram. If you're interested in such things, check it out.
