Two good emails in my electronic box this morning.

The first adds to my Technocrats post yesterday:

I found this via links or Stumble, a web browser extension. forevergeek.com, which links to this:

These sites really underscore Bernanos and Berry
On the second page, notice the Astral projection ads ”“ new age spirituality with technology. You don't need to fast under a tree to find nirvana ”“ now you can look at porn or buy junk on e-Bay while listening to your iPod! (I may be mixing different “spritualities”, but hey-all is one, right?)

The second letter comes from a reader who attended the White House Egg Roll. Apparently, the gays were mostly well-behaved, but their opponents weren't. Highly disturbing (the latter, not the former). Our country doesn't need more Kansas Phelps:

I attended the Easter Egg Roll at the White House. I do not know what possessed me to spend 10 hours on the Ellipse in the wee hours between Good Friday and Holy Saturday, but I did. One can pray a really nice rosary when one is too cold and uncomfortable to sleep, so I guess it was good for something.
Anyway, I was pretty annoyed at the rainbow-lei people who wanted to turn a children's event into a political statement. And I agree, the statement itself is pretty stupid and time is sure to prove that a dysfunctional family life will produce dysfunctional adults. But, at least all they did was wear rainbow-leis and my kids were pretty clueless as to what that meant. What was really offensive, though, were the anti-rainbow-lei protesters who had HUGE signs which stated lovely things like "HOMO SEX IS A SIN." Keep in mind that this event is geared to children aged 7 and under. I avoided the area, since I wasn't interested in my two early readers trying out their phonics skills. I don't know what gets in these people's heads.
