No Shame and/or Intelligence

The LA Times has published a lengthy story about Tom DeLay's decision to let his father die 16 years ago instead of intervening with kidney dialysis and other extraordinary measures. The implication: DeLay is a hypocrite in the Shiavo matter. The total ignorance shown by the four reporters who worked on this story is unbelievable. They apparently have no idea that the Catholic Church–as well as other Christian ethicists–draw a distinction between extraordinary and ordinary medical procedures. It's either ignorance, or they've simply prepared a disingenuous article to discredit DeLay and right-to-lifers in general. We have little respect for the media, but this piece of trash shocks even us.

And the dolts at Yahoo News thought it was a compelling enough story to run it on their front page.
