No Shame and/or Intelligence

The *LA Times* has published a lengthy story about Tom DeLay's decision to let his father die 16 years ago instead of intervening with kidney dialysis and other extraordinary measures. The implication: DeLay is a hypocrite in the Shiavo matter. The total ignorance shown by the ***four*** reporters who worked on this story is unbelievable. They apparently have no idea that the Catholic Church–as well as other Christian ethicists–draw a distinction between extraordinary and ordinary medical procedures. It's either ignorance, or they've simply prepared a disingenuous article to discredit DeLay and right-to-lifers in general. We have little respect for the media, but this piece of trash shocks even us.

And the dolts at *Yahoo News* thought it was a compelling enough story to run it on their front page.
