While heating up my lunch at the office, I flipped through *Elle* magazine (the secretaries keep it in the break room). I tried to find the table of contents, but discovered that it's buried: it comes after **37** pages of advertisements. It's probably common to fashion magazines, but what an insult to readers. "We care nothing for your convenience or ease of use. Wade through the ads first." Then again, regular readers of *Elle* probably don't care. Ads are high art forms in their world, what with the pretty pictures and all.

(Yeah, I'm feeling a little acerbic today.)
