Interesting post at Mere Comments:
Jesus was a liturgist, declares Discalced Carmelite Father Jesús Castellano, professor at the Teresianum Faculty of Rome and consultor in several Vatican congregations, speaking to Zenit in an interview titled A Healthy Crisis for the Liturgy.
It is an alarming way of putting it, since the word "liturgist" is pretty much a synonym for "pompous preening incompetent who wrecks what he does not understand, and wrecks it with a smile." I exaggerate, I admit, and I know some fine liturgical scholars, who are perfectly sane and understand the Church's traditions, but the number of professional liturgists whom that phrase describes is distressingly high.
