Electric Kool-Aid

The sixties have always fascinated me, and not just in a nauseous way. I've read Gitlin and Horowitz's histories, I've read plenty of Kerouac and an assortment of others. But I've never read The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. I guess I will. Maybe it's prophetic that we're the same age.

As The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test approaches its fortieth consecutive year in print, it's still the best account – fictional or non, in print or on film – of the genesis of the sixties hipster subculture.
