This might be the easiest BYCU of all time.

First off, I start with the GKC lines I always post on this day:

For the Great Gaels of Ireland
Are the men that God made mad,
For all their wars are merry
And all their songs are sad.

The Ballad of the White Horse.

Second, I want to thank my bishop for dispensing his flock from the Friday lenten obligation, while admonishing it that, in lieu of meat, some other form of penance must be adopted. I've never met my bishop, but by all indications, he's a real decent guy . . . full of common sense but also piety.

And now the BYCU stuff: Wow! The trifecta: Friday, St. Patrick's Day, and the Greatest Sports Day of the Year (first round of the NCAA tournament). I honestly don't know how I'm going to spend it, but I hope to break from work mid-afternoon and stop at the sports bar down the road for a few, then come home and eat corned beef and drink a few more.

I might put a few drops of green food coloring in my gin and tonic. Or I might make the Midori Sour. I've never tried it, but I really like Midori.

If you're looking for more St. Patrick's Day cocktails, this page has some interesting ones.

Enjoy!
