Prison and AIDS

Conspiracy nuts have long claimed that the HIV virus that causes AIDS was created by government scientists as a way to kill black people. In fact, recent polls find that more than 25 percent of black Americans believe that the conspiracy is real. After all, African-Americans constitute about 12 percent of the U.S. population, yet half of all new AIDS infections occur among black people.
