A reader writes in response to my post yesterday:
Your correspondent about J.K. Rowling's church membership is incorrect on at least one count. The Church of Scotland is Presbyterian. The Anglican church there is called the "Scottish Episcopal Church."
My daughter is a Harry Potter devotee, so I have followed the press about Rowling over the last few years, and I have read many times that she is a member of the Church of Scotland, but that may not be accurate. The Wikipedia article on the Scottish Episcopal Church claims that Rowling is a member of that church. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Episcopal_Church. This may be so, as she grew up in England and may have attended Anglican services there.
Who knows? But by all accounts she does seem to be a church-goer.
