[Today], at 7:16 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the population here on this good Earth is projected to hit 6.5 billion people.

The Malthusians are freaking out. But did you know that the earth's population has started to stabilize and will probably decrease by 2050? That's based on UN statistics. I wish I could find the link, but I can't. You'll have to take my word for it.

Also, check out this assertion by Brad Edmonds at LewRockwell from 2003: "[I]f the entire 6.3 billion of us were jammed into the United States alone, the population density would be less than ¼ the density of Washington DC."

So before we run off and give government subsidies to abortionists, keep the 6.5 billion in perspective. Also keep in mind that the additional millions are not in the West. The same article that announces the 6.5 billion mark also acknowledges the "birth dearth" that is killing the West.

And if you're still upset about the 6.5 billion, just ask yourself: Which ones should we start to kill? If you come up with a long list, you might want to put yourself at the top (chuckle).
