The Shroud and the Olympics

From USA Today:

[O]ver five days of coverage so far, NBC (with the exception of Today) has yet to mention the Shroud of Turin. Whether you venerate the Shroud as the actual burial cloth of a crucified Jesus of Nazareth or dismiss it as a clever medieval forgery, it's odd NBC has ignored one of world's most mysterious, and controversial, religious artifacts.

I don't know what to think of the silence, but do we really want NBC talking about it? If they gave it extensive coverage--say, a three-person roundtable--you know what we'd get: an atheist skeptic, a neutral moderator, and (for the Catholic side) a former Catholic seminiarian who is now Episcopalian. And if they gave it brief coverage, could they really do it justice?
