The Religion of Peace
Iran's hardline spiritual leaders have issued an unprecedented new fatwa, or holy order, sanctioning the use of atomic weapons against its enemies.
In yet another sign of Teheran's stiffening resolve on the nuclear issue, influential Muslim clerics have for the first time questioned the theocracy's traditional stance that Sharia law forbade the use of nuclear weapons.
A theocracy that uses nuclear weapons. Hmmmm. That seems to militate against George W.'s ridiculous assertion that Islam is a religion of peace. The Catholic Church has a long history of letting the secular powers undertake the dirty work. Some find it a dishonorable history, but I think it's a common-sensical one, and one that's better than the Church sanctioning killing when the prudential politics may call for it.
