The Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has been compared to the Roman Emperor Caligula by a leading Catholic Bishop over Spain's legalisation of same-sex marriage.
In a vicious personal attack on the Prime Minister, Bishop Antonio Algora told Spanish newspapers, "If Zapatero wants to become Caligula, it's up to him, but without doubt people will have to learn who Caligula was and what customs he imposed on Rome, it's as simple as that."

It took me a second, but I think I get it: Caligula celebrated depravity, and so does Zapatero. I suspect the bishop's remarks aren't going to hit their mark. The analogy is a little stretched, but I enjoyed it.
