The big TV news today: Fox's *American Idol* crushed the Olympics last night. It's no doubt a testament to the power of *American Idol*, but NBC's absolutely horrible coverage has no doubt helped things. Do you want to watch *AI* or the Camaroon luger? *AI* or two slalom runs and 11 commercials? *AI* or an inane human interest story? I like Bob Costas, the coverage itself has been wretched.

I also want to know: Who passed a law against showing American gold medalists before 10:00 p.m.?
