My over-wintered spinach crop came through splendidly this year. No surprise, of course: I think we've had the mildest winter ever, and it's in one of my permanent cold frames. I took my first crop last week. I pulled my spinach pots out on Sunday and planted more spinach in its place. (The entire process is explained in this post.)

It's too early to celebrate yet, but 2015-2016 is the first winter in decades that I haven't gotten sick. Ever since I first had children (Alex is 22), I've gotten colds, flus, and/or bronchitis every winter. Nothing this year . . . yet. I'm hoping the cold and flu season is over, but I continue to keep the four thieves essential oil piping out of the diffuser.

I wonder what a mint condition of this game would sell for on Pawn Stars: Gay Monopoly. Produced by "Parker Sisters," it probably wouldn't float in today's PC-charged climate. Instead of the thimble or top hat, "players could choose from a biker cap, handcuffs, a high-heeled shoe and more." "Players also had to identify the colors of the hanky code and perform camp challenges like saying “faaaaabulous” six different ways." Alas, it also didn't float with Parker Brothers, who allegedly sued the Sisters for copyright infringement.

I really like tribute bands. It appears I'm not the only one. This single venue is bringing in a huge assortment of tribute bands this summer. It's a pretty stunning list of "tributees": Eagles, Pat Benatar, David Bowie, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Prince, Bob Seger . . . And this dude (not a tribute) is coming:
