"Why can't people let each other alone and not obtrude on each other?"
That's Dorothy Day, a "Servant of God" (declared by JPII). A woman who gave of herself constantly . . . constantly. And yet, she harbored at least a bit of resentment toward those who obtrude on her.
I have to admit: It makes me feel better. I frequently find myself saying, "Why can't people just leave me alone?" And then I feel guilty.
I'll continue to feel guilty about it, but I feel better knowing I'm in company with a person of Day's quality.
