I guess I'm behind the times. I just became aware of this funny cartoonist: [Dave Coverly](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave%5FCoverly?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). He grew up near me (our high schools battle in the same athletic conference), he's just slightly older than me, he attended Eastern Michigan (Marie's *alma mater* and where my son now attends), and he lives in Ann Arbor (my old stomping grounds). He grabbed my attention with this hilarious cartoon:

To my limited credit, the Speedbump name rings a bell. I think I'd seen it before, but as a practical matter, I don't spend much time with newspapers or conventional magazines, so it didn't "sink in."
