I guess I'm behind the times. I just became aware of this funny cartoonist: Dave Coverly. He grew up near me (our high schools battle in the same athletic conference), he's just slightly older than me, he attended Eastern Michigan (Marie's alma mater and where my son now attends), and he lives in Ann Arbor (my old stomping grounds). He grabbed my attention with this hilarious cartoon:

To my limited credit, the Speedbump name rings a bell. I think I'd seen it before, but as a practical matter, I don't spend much time with newspapers or conventional magazines, so it didn't "sink in."
